Lifekeeper Memory Quilt Square Workshop

TOGETHER.

REMEMBERING THOSE LOST TO SUICIDE.

Sandy Martin founded the Lifekeeper Foundation and it's Lifekeeper Memory Quilt Program after her only son, Tony, took his own life.   Before her death in 2006, Sandy was an active member of the AFSP Atlanta walk committee for the first two years of the Out of the Darkness walks.  Per her wishes, after her death the Lifekeeper Foundation was transferred to SPAN USA and, in 2009, with the AFSP-SPAN USA merger, the Lifekeeper Foundation and its programs were lovingly transferred to AFSP.  AFSP continues Sandy's legacy in what is now known as the AFSP Lifekeeper Memory Quilt program.

The quilts put a human face on the tragedy of suicide and its devastating toll on families and communities. Each panel in the quilt tells the story of someone who took their life. The panels are lovingly created and stitched together, and the quilts are publicly displayed at local and national events to remind us that no survivor of suicide loss stands alone.

You don't have to be crafty or know how to sew to be part of this nationwide project.

All you have to do is have up to four photos (**printed or digital, at least 2 MB in size) along with any text you might want to include.

**Printed photos will need to be mailed in prior to the quilt day to be scanned. Photos will be returned the day of the workshop.

We are setting up an in-person workshop to build our quilt.  Right now we have 11 spots available, on a first come first serve basis, to fill our 2nd Central Florida Quilt.
